| IP phones work and look just like standard phones to the user, and can even be moved around offices while keeping the same phone number in busy environments. Administration such as adding extensions is simple, and can be performed by a non-technical assistant rather than an expensive contractor. Cabling costs are cut almost in half, and even today's slowest office networks can handle more than 250 concurrent calls, or about 1,500 handsets before needing to be upgraded to higher bandwidth. The Fast Ethernet standard can actually support 2,500 simultaneous conversations and up to 15,000 phone sets meeting the needs of even the largest organizations.
